Ralph W. Antrim

     NAMPA — Graveside services for Ralph Waldo Antrim, 79, of Nampa, who died Sunday in Sandy. Ore., will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.

     He was born on Feb. 27, 1896, in Louisville, Iowa, and homesteaded west of Homedale in 1939. He married Bernice Boyd on March 28, 1920, in Baraboo, Wis. He was a veteran of World War I.

     Survivors include his wife, of Nampa; two daughters, Mildred Hollingsworth, Caldwell, and Patricia Wenz, Estacada, Ore.; a son, Glen Antrim, Nampa; 13 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.


Ralph Waldo Antrim

      Ralph Waldo Antrim was born February 27, 1896 at Lovilla, Iowa and passed away November 2, 1976, at Sandy, Oregon at the age of 79. His parents were Edward M. Antrim and Jennie Boothe.

      He was baptized in the Christian Church at Pontiac, Illinois.

He served during World War I with Wisconsin troops in Machine Gun Company 128, Infantry 32nd Division.

      He won four bars on his Service Medal, defensive sector, in Alsace and offensive fronts, Oise-Ainse, Ainse-Marne and the Argonne.

He was gassed at Sua Susia for which he received the Purple Heart.

      He married Bernice Georgie Boyd, March 28, 1920 at Baraboo, Wisconsin. To this union was born three children, Glen W. Antrim, Nampa, Idaho; Mildred B. Hollingsworth, Caldwell, Idaho and Patricia B. Wenz, Estacada, Oregon.

      He had thirteen grandchildren, Mathew S. Leavitt, Daniel R. Leavitt and Randy V. Leavitt, Caldwell, Idaho; William W. Antrim, Union, Oregon; Brand L. Antrim, Ester Nuffaker and Judy Badoni of Nampa, Idaho; Sgt. Rodney Wenz, U.S. Air Force Terry Wenz, Corvalis, Oregon; Kent, Kristy, Gordon and Patty wenz, Estacada, Ore. and 16 and three sisterS-two of whom ,. • d4Ath..• The •11,iing are.       He had six brothers and three sisters, two of whom, Ruby and Roland preceded him in death. The living are: Emanuel, William and Paul Antrim, Minnesota; Theodore Antrim, Nebraska, Ross Antrim, Alabama, Yvonia Bell, Wisconsin and Agness Bledsoe, Georgia.

      He was a farmer and developed a homestead in Ridgeview Community, Oregon in 1938 where he resided until retirement in 1960. He then lived at Eagle Creek and Estacada, Oregon. His main home was on 13th Avenue South, Nampa, Idaho.

      Evening Service was held at Estacada, Oregon November 4th and he was taken to Idaho where the family gathered at the home of Mildred Hollingworth, Caldwell.

      Final Services were November 6th at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens where World War I Veterans were in charge of the services. An Honor Guard from Mountain Home Air Base gave him a Twenty-one Gun Salute.
