Nola Ann Cusic was born to Andrew Jackson and Mahala Belle (Wilson) Cusic in Dekoven, Union, Kentucky. Nola Ann's daughter Bessie was not sure of the spelling of Dekoven so spelled it Decoven and in many records it has stayed that way. Nola Ann Cusic married John Joseph Stephenson (JJ) 22 Aug 1886 in Ottowa, Franklin, Kansas. They lived a good deal of time in Pittsburg, Kansas and Colorado Springs, Colorado. It was there a horrible tragedy happened. In 1909 they lost two of their young sons on the same day.One was JJ's namesake. One can only speculate what happened, but it is believed that Nola Ann never fully recovered from her son's death. JJ filed for divorce in 1912 in Colorado Springs, Colorado, then married Myrtle Carter in 1913.

I have since found out that JJ Stephenson's obituary was incorrect about Nola Ann "Annie" was one of the survivors. She in fact had remarried John F Robinson. Nola Ann was given the ranch she so loved in Midway, Delta, Colorado where her and JJ's spent a great deal of time. In 1920 Federal Census, Nola Ann and John F. Robinson lived in Midway on her ranch.
