Mrs. Margaret Ginn Piotrowski, age 88, of Athens, Georgia passed away Tuesday, May 29, 2012. Mrs. Piotrowski was a 2 year resident of Lanier Gardens in Athens.


Mrs. Piotrowski was born January 30, 1924 in Union Point, GA., the daughter of the late Hattie Evelyn Bussell and Tinsley Asbury Ginn. She was a loving and devoted mother, sister, grandmother, and great grandmother. Mrs. Piotrowski served as a Corporal in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II. She met her husband Ray, a Marine Drill Instructor, while serving in the Marines. They were married in 1945. Mrs. Piotrowski graduated from high school and attained an Associate Business Degree. Mrs. Piotrowski retired with special commendations from her supervisors after many years of service with the IRS.


Survivors include her husband Ray Piotrowski, her children and their spouses, Terry and Phyllis, Scotty and Sandy, Gary and Nancy; grandchildren, Derek, Jeff and his wife, Daye, Chase & Elise; great-grandchildren, Willow and Orson; brother, Gene Stephens, sister-in-law, Jane Stephens; sister June Cornuet, nieces and nephews also survive.


The family received friends for viewing and respects at Bernstein Funeral Home in Athens Saturday from 12:00 noon to 2:00 pm on Saturday, June 2, 2012. Funeral services were conducted at 2:00 pm Saturday, with Pastor Tim Vaughn officiating. Interment followed the service in Evergreen Memorial Park.
