Mable Jessie (King) West, born August 21, 1920, to the late Jasper and Emma (Daugherty) King in Strunk Kentucky, left this walk of life on June 6, 2012. at the age of 91.

Funeral services were held Sunday, June 10, 2012, at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Pine Knot Funeral Home with Rev. Landon Sexton and Bro. Rick Wilson officiating. She was laid to rest at the Silerville Cemetery.

Mable is now with her loved ones who have gone on before her, including her husband R. L. West whom she met in a little old country church many, many years ago. She knew at first sight this was the man she would be spending her life with. They began dating right away, six months later, in August of 1940, she married the love of her life. They made their home in Strunk, Kentucky, and had eight children.

They had 42 wonderful years together before the love of her life left this earthly home to go to his eternal home in heaven where he had been waiting on this beautiful wife since his death on May 30, 1982.

Left behind to remember her are her children; Katheryn Soard and James of Stearns, Noble West and Joan of Bainbridge, Georgia, Nevada Corder of Pine Knot, Jack West and Pernie of Strunk, Rickie West and Karen of Pine Knot and a special granddaughter Kimberly Layne Wilson and Rick of Strunk.

Also left behind are two brothers Darel King of Whitley City, Walter king and Betty of Muncie, Indiana, one sister Mary Jo Wright of Cleveland, Ohio, 25 grandchildren, almost one hundred great grandchildren and many great- great grandchildren, and many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends, two very special friends Betty Dixon and Cookie Davis.

The loved ones who are awaiting for her in heaven are her parents, her husband, a son Robert Lee West, two daughters Wonda Crabtree and Brenda Watters, two granddaughters Kimberly Nicole West (daughter of Jack and Pernie West) and Mary Ann Crabtree (daughter of Wonda and Arnold Crabtree), two grandsons Shawn and James Bruce Soard (sons of Katheryn and James Soard), two brothers Hobert and Noble King, five sisters Ethel Tucker, Hazel Roberts, Georgia Anderson, Augusta Duncan and Monnie Duncan, and one son-in-law Charles Corder.

Some significant accomplishments Mable said she was proud of were her marriage to her husband, R.L., the birth of each of her children, but most of all, her salvation. She loved singing for the Lord and her husband was a great guitar player. They would travel for miles singing and working for the Lord. Not long before he went home to be with the Lord, they recorded a few cassette tapes, but they all have been lost. She also enjoyed gardening, crocheting and bingo.
