She was born Sept. 23, 1924, in Franklin, N.C., to Fred N. and Della Esther (Teems) Crisp.
She married James L. Classen in Elizabeth City, N.C., on Sept. 17, 1945. He survives.
Also surviving are her son, Keith (Carolyn) Classen; two grandchildren, Hillary (Kevin Whiteside) Classen and Kristopher Classen and three sisters, Marie Pope, Lynn Wosten and Velma Ervin.
She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Deloress and brother, Virgil.
She worked for F & P Mailing Service, retiring in October of 1984.She enjoyed crocheting, quilting and listening to country music.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 13, 2012, at Parkview Cemetery in Peoria, with Chaplain Paul Isom officiating.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Alzheimer's Association.
Schmidt-Haller Burial and Cremation Services in Peoria are in charge of arrangements.
