Robert graduated from Cherry Creek High School in Denver, Colorado in 1961. He enlisted in the U. S. Navy, serving 12 years. While in the Navy, he took correspondence courses to further his education. Upon leaving the Navy, Robert started his own company, eventually moving it abroad and when time permitted, enjoying life.

He was an excellent cook, treating his neighbors and friends with his culinary delights. He loved cars, the faster they went, the better he liked it.

He returned to Denver every 10 years for class reunions and to visit the family, then off to wherever life took him.

He accidentally met the woman he wanted to spend the rest of his life with and on October 12, 1996, he and Mary Malinda were joined in marriage.

They set up housekeeping at his home in Mount Victoria, MD, he the country gentleman and Lindy went to work. In 2011, it was discovered he had lymphoma. He began treatment, shortly went into remission, appearing again in May 2012. He again began treatment, losing his final battle quickly, leaving behind his beloved wife, 2 sisters, 2 nieces, 1 nephew, and their families.
