Blanche, before her marriage, had been a seamstress and continued to use her abilities in volunteer work for the Naeve Hospital Auxiliary, Calvary Baptist Church and other volunteer groups. She, too, was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and its women's Society and the Eastern Star.
