Edward D. Gerney, age 81, of Glendora, NJ, formerly of Pitman, died on June 14 at Vitas Hospice, Stratford, NJ.
Born and raised in Westmont, NJ, he was a long time Camden County resident. He served in the Army Corps of Engineers during the Korean Conflict, and was in the Army Reserves, Woodbury Barracks.
He attended Lincoln Technical School and was an avid Auto Mechanic. He worked for his father in the family business, Chris's Quaker Store in Pitman. He was also employed by Berlin Auto Body, and NAPA Auto Parts in Blackwood, NJ.
He is survived by his sisters; Catherine Gerney of Franklinville, Theresa Paulson of Sewell, brother; Walter (Nancy) Gerney of Salem, and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Friends may call in the KELLEY FUNERAL HOME, 125 Pitman Ave., Pitman, NJ. Interment Hillcrest Memorial Park.
