Charles Allen "Bud" Dunavin, 88, passed away Friday, June 15, 2012, at Manor Care North, York. Bud was the husband of Dorothy R. (Geisler) Dunavin, who died on September 4, 2007.
Mr. Dunavin was born in York, on June 6, 1924, son of the late Arnold D. and Estella M. (Witmer) Dunavin.
He was a carpenter for Edwin C. Myers Contracting from which he retired. Bud enjoyed old cars, attending auctions, and raising pigeons and doves.
He is survived by two sons, John A. Dunavin and his wife, Linda of Dover, and Jack A. Dunavin and his wife, Debra of Mt. Wolf; two daughters, Judy A. Noel, and Jane A. Munchel and her husband, Fred, all of York; six grandchildren, Jennifer, Kristen, Lauren, Nathan, Ashley, and Courtney; eight great-grandchildren, Natalie, Shane, Leighton, Jason, Holly, Bryce, Wyatt, and Jordan; and a sister, Evelyn V. Hess of York. He was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Eric and Lisa, and a brother, Marshall "Mark" Dunavin.
Funeral service will be held Tuesday, June 19, 2012, at 11 a.m. at the LeRoy R. Leber Funeral Home, Inc., 2290 School St., York (Shiloh). Officiating will be the Rev. Dennis Hall of Friendship Community Church, Dover.
Final resting place will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery, York.
