James "Jim" William Lane

Mr. Lane, 80, Wheatland, died at Good Samaritan Nursing Home, Olathe, Kan.

He was born in Toronto, Mo., the son of Ray C. and Ollie Head Lane. He graduated from Stoutland High School in 1949 and had lived in the Kansas City area for 45 years prior to moving to Wheatland. He was a member of the Elkton Baptist Church.

He enjoyed playing country music, playing in the Kansas City area for 40 years and for 12 years in the Wheatland area. He played guitar, bass guitar, banjo and Dobro.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Betty Nadine Smith Lane; three children, Beverly Lane Troutman and husband David of Olathe, Kan., Terry Lane and wife Sonja of Kansas City, Kan., and Brian Lane and wife Valerie of Gardner, Kan.; three grandchildren, Angie Bartels, Bridgett Yahn and Olivia Lane; four great-grandchildren, Hailey Bartels, Chloe Bartels, Easton Yahn and Barrett Yahn; four step-grandchildren; and his sister, Laura Lane McMullen of Kansas City, Kan.

The Rev. Kent Pearson officiated with burial in Oaklawn Cemetery in Richland.
