David Nelson Burlingame, age 67 of Cherryvale, Kansas died Monday June 11, 2012.

David was born July 18, 1944 in Independence, Kansas to Corney Nelson and Hazel Fern (Franklin) Burlingame. David attended schools in Moorhead, Kansas.

On October 10, 1975 David married Sharon Kay Franklin in Miami, Oklahoma and she preceded him in death on November 29, 1999.

David worked at Cobalt Boats for 25 years as a production worker retiring in 2007.

He was a member of the Baptist Church in Chanute, Kansas.

Survivors include four daughters Debbie Williams of Thayer, Ks; Denise Burlingame and Donna Stiles both of Neodesha, Kansas and Misty Burlingame of Independence, Kansas; one son Larry Burlingame of Nebraska; companion Alice Ogle of Cherryvale, Kansas; 5 granddaughters and 3 grandsons.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and one sister Beulah Poe.

Celebration of Life Services will be held at 2:30 p.m., Friday, June 15, 2012 at the Potts Chapel in Cherryvale, Kansas.

Visitation hours will be from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, June 14, 2012 with the family receiving friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Potts Chapel in Cherryvale, Kansas.

The family has suggested memorials to the American Cancer Society or the Hospice Care of Kansas and contributions may be left at the Potts Chapel in Cherryvale, Kansas.
