John William Kemp of Bethesda, died at Barnesville Hospital, Sunday evening, August 4. He was 80 years of age.
Mr. Kemp was a life long resident of the Bethesda are and was born March 9, 1883 at Belmont. He was a retired farmer and former teacher in the Hunter and Chestnut Level Schools. He was a member of the Bethesda Methodist Church. His wife, Mrs. Clara Burns Kemp preceded him in death in 1949. A son, Warren, died in 1960.
Surviving are one son, Hollis, with whom he made his home; one brother, A. F. Kemp of Bethesda; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Friends were received at the Kelly-Kemp Funeral Home in Bethesda, where services were held Wednesday at 2 p.m. The Rev. Francis Smith and the Rev. Sterling Perkins officiated and burial was made in Ebenezer Cemetery, Bethesda.
