Harold E. Adams, Shawnee, died Thursday in Norman at the age of 75. He was born May 20, 1926 in Shawnee, the son of Norman and Edna Ruth Adams. He grew up and was educated in Shawnee.

On April 9, 1949, he and Marcella Gilley were wed in Gainesville, Texas.

Adams, a sheet metal mechanic supervisor, retired from Tinker Air Force Base after 38 years of service. He worked in the oil fields and for Jonco Aircraft. He served in the U.S. Navy Underwater Demolition Team from 1942 to 1954, receiving several awards and medals.

He was a member of Morning Star Baptist Church and the American Legion.

Preceding him in death were his parents, one niece and two sons, Rodney and William.

Survivors include his wife, of Shawnee, two daughters and sons-in-law, Edna Beatrice and Ronnie Churchwell of Shawnee and Debra Sue and Joaquin Munoz of McAllen, Texas, son and daughter-in-law, Johnny Lee and Trudy Dahlem of Shawnee, sister, Wanda Jean Rogers of Independence, Kansas, six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday at Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel. The Revs. James Walters and Ronnie Churchwell will officiate. Burial will be at Resthaven Memorial Park.
