Hoyt Bryan, 75, of Carrollton, died Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2002.
Mr. Bryan was born June 10, 1926, in Randolph County, Ala., son of the late Wyatt Bryan and Cordia Prestridge Bryan. He was a World War II Navy veteran, was a member of Tabernacle Bapist Church and was a member of the Hardee's Breakfast Group. In 1981 he founded the Bryan Insurance Agency.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Helen Monteen Anderson Bryan; son, Andy Bryan; sisters, Maebelle Lee, Lorene Wessinger and Ibera Granger; brother, Durell Bryan.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Jolly Bryan of Carrollton; sons and daughters-in-law, Kenny and Bretha Bryan of Carrollton and Jimmy and Darlene Bryan of Temple; daughter-in law, Demaris Bryan of Carrollton; brother, Durward Bryan of Carrollton; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be Thursday, Jan. 17, at 11 a.m. at Martin & Hightower Heritage Chapel in Carrollton with Dr. Jimmy Gentry and Dr. Howard Cobble officiating. Pallbearers will be Bob Thucker, Chuck Griffith, Chuck White, Wayne Mosely, Roy Driver and Dale Parker. Honorary pallbearers will be the Hardee's Breakfast Group. Burial will follow in Carroll Memory Gardens with American Legion Post #143 making the flag presentation.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. and 5-8p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to TMC Hospice Care.
