Internment: 07161917∼Del MacIntyre was a Police Officer in Riverside, California for just a year. He died serving his duty, at age 38. He died from his injuries suffered five years prior. The incident occurred on February 3rd, 1912. He was attempting to arrest a Transient that had broke into a Barn in the Arlington area of the County. He was making his rounds for hobo's and bums that would break into local barns and farmhouses and the Orange Groves. Officer MacIntyre shot warning shots at the suspects feet, emptying his revolver. The suspect turned and had a gun and shot Officer MacIntyre in the spine, leaving him paralyzed. In spite of several large posse's and a $150.00 reward, the suspect was never apprehended. Officer MacIntyre remained in a wheel chair till his death.
