David Cumberworth, 42; owner of a florist business in Lafayette Square and a former teacher in the Webster Groves schools, died Wednesday (Dec. 5, 1990) at Jewish Hospital after suffering from pneumonia. He was 42. Mr. Cumberworth, who lived in the Lafayette neighborhood, opened Cum-berworth's Fine Flowers in 1983. He taught for 11 years at Hixson Junior High, the old Plymouth Junior High and Webster Groves High School. Mr. Cumberworth was born in Springfield, Ill., and got a bachelor's degree from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Lafayette Park United Methodist Church, 2300 Lafayette Avenue. Burial will be at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Springfield, Ill. Among the survivors are his father, Harold K. Cumberworth of St Louis, and a brother, Lee Cumberworth of Taylorville, Ill.
