His brother Isaac Tull also served in the Civil War.

Martin V. Tull married 8 March 1866, Andrew Co., MO to Sarah Emma Bowman. Martin worked as a farmer, and "Emma" as a housewife, farmer's wife, and mother. To this union, two daughters were born:
1. Anna B. Tull, b. 8 August 1876 in Andrew Co., MO, married Robert Kelley. Children: Anna Louise, John R. and Ruth K.--there might have been more. Anna died at age 75, on 2 Oct 1951 at St. Marys Hospital, Ironton, Iron County, MO. Anna was buried in the Park Grove Cememtery, St. Louis, MO.

2. Katharine Tull was born 27 Feb 1881 in Whitesville, MO. She was a school teacher and never married. Katharine died at DePaul Hospital in St. Louis on 14 Oct 1962 at age 81. She had breast cancer for 16 months. She was buried in a local cemetery at Whitesville, MO.

Martin preceded "Emma" in death by nine months. He died on his birthday at age 87 years, in Platte Township, Andrew County, MO.

[From the notebook of Keith & Marilyn Grabill: According to family tradition, Martin had friends and neighbors ask to borrow money. He always loaned money to them, however, he always had them come back the next day to get it. Near dusk, he had the younger children dig some up. Martin would tell them exactly where to dig and they would always be able to find it. But nobody else knew the location or the number of places he had of buried money.

Martin Tull and his family lived in what is now 1 mile south and 2 miles east of Whitesville, Section 36, Platte Township, Andrew County, Missouri. His father's farm was in Section 24 of what is now Benton Township--about 4 miles west and 2 1/2 miles south of Martin's home].
