Mae was born and raised on Vancouver Island. As an adult she moved to the United States and worked for the Telephone Company first in Washington, and then California until she retired. She married Everett Law (no children of this marriage, however, Everett had a son Peter from a previous Marriage).
In later years Mae lived with her sister Isabelle (Little) Parker in Rancho Mirage, California; however, she spent several months of the year visiting her niece Sara (Ivey) Yearley, the daughter of her sister Ellen, (Sara was one year younger than Mae). Mae also spent time in Nanaimo with her niece Sal (Robertson) Rozzano, who was the daughter of her sister Annie (Little) Robertson, and also with her niece Lorraine Buchanan (daughter of Gertrude Robertson), and the granddaughter of Mae's sister Annie (Little) Robertson).
