A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 5, at Jacksonville Veterans Cemetery.
Jimmie was born on May 3, 1941, in Columbia.
He worked at University Hospital for 22 years, as well as at Columbia College for several years. Jimmie served his country well as a U.S. Marine.
Jimmie is survived by Dottie Algiere; his daughter, Charissa Elizabeth Algiere of Columbia; stepdaughter, Carla Brooner of New York; and three siblings, Thomas Albert Algiere (Vivian) and Linda Joyce Algiere, both of Columbia, and Virginia Newton of Florida.
