Mr. William Robert "Bill" Smith, 71, went to be with his Savior on May 30, 2012, at his home in Prescott Valley, Ariz., surrounded by his family and caregivers.
Bill was born Dec. 5, 1940, in Wayne, W.Va., son of the late Jewell Jackson and William Smith. Bill was joined in marriage to Diana Ashley on June 30, 1963.
Bill was preceded in death by his loving wife Diana of Prescott Valley; son William "Bill" Smith of Wayne, Neb.; great-grandson Skyler Griffin; parents Jewell and William Smith of West Virginia; brothers Joe and Maxie; and sister Margaret Ann White.
Bill is survived by his three daughters, Deborah K. and Mike Griffin of Prescott Valley, Rhonda and John Etheridge of Carthage, Tenn., and DeAnna Roberts of Prescott Valley, Ariz.; nine grandchildren, Adina, Cory, Billy, Amanda, Ervin, Ezra, Gina, Zachary and Eva; and a great-grandson, Colton; his sisters Betty Moore, Leona Sue Kirk, Norene Blethen, Patricia Webb and Judy Webb; and brother Richard.
Bill served and loved his wife and family first at all costs. Bill was an honest, genuine and hardworking man. Bill loved camping, the outdoors and of course FISHING. A very special thank-you to Granite Mountain Home Care & Hospice for their amazing and compassionate care for him and his family until the end.
Visitation will be at 1 p.m. and funeral services at 2 p.m. June 4, 2012, at Arizona Ruffner Wakelin Funeral Home in Prescott, Ariz.
Services will be performed by Rev. Gary Graveline and burial will follow at Pioneer Home Cemetery, in Prescott.
