Phyllis Mae Whitehair, 90, of Monongah, passed away Tuesday, August 7, 2018. Phyllis was born March 24, 1928 in Gassaway, WV, daughter of the late Phillip and Cora Friend Ross. Phyllis was retired from Fairmont General Hospital. She was a very giving person who enjoyed spending time with her family, reading her Bible, bird watching, and cooking. She attended the Norway Church of Christ. In addition to her parents, Phyllis is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Eugene Whitehair; her brother, Edsel David Ross; her sister, June Ross Clampitt; and a grandson, Jacob Duus. Phyllis is survived by her son, Robert Whitehair and his wife Laura of Monongah; grandchildren, Eric and his wife Ivana Laudrille, Miranda Hastings and her husband Todd, Jessica Duus and her husband Nicholas, Brittaniona Whitehair, Robert Eugene Whitehair, Airel Nicole, and Zandria Taylor; great grandchildren, Jesalyn Laudrille, Matthew Mason, Caitlin Hastings, Chaice Hastings, Nicholas Laudrille, Cynthia Hastings, Issac Laudrille, Gabriel Duus, Ava Hastings, Isaiah Duus, Skyler Duus, Austin Rought, and Natalie Laudrille. The family will receive friends at Domico Funeral Home, 414 Gaston Avenue in Fairmont, on Friday, August 10, 2018 from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and on Saturday, August 11, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. The funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Sabrina Haught and Rev. Bill Preston officiating. Interment will follow at the Martin Cemetery in Monongah.
