Charles A. Linnekin, Born 1847 not 1856. Charles was a three year old in the 1850 Census. Son of Robert Linnekin (1807-1870) of Appleton Ridge, Knox Co., Maine and Rachel Gahan [1812- ?]. Married first on 15 December 1868 in Kennebunkport, Maine to Cora Ellen Hartell Vinton.

One daughter, Nina May Linnekin (1882-1914) who married to Jesse Smith Huffington.

Charles started out in the straw processing and dying for making straw hats or boaters. He and his first wife, Cora, a milliner, moved to Wilkes -Barre, Luzerne Co., Pa. by 1880 where he continued in this business with wife Cora.
Charles and Cora divorced on 12 January 1903 in Wilkes-Barre, Luzerne Co., Pa. and Charles came to Ashland, Schuylkill Co., Pa and started a dye works where he met his second wife, Catherine "Kate" Camp Reiff and they married on 22 January 1903.
There were no children from this marriage and sadly Charles lost his only daughter Nina May Linnekin Huffington in childbirth in Albany, New York. He became a dear stepfather to Hazel N. Reiff Schaeffer.
