ATHENS, Aug 4 (Special) - Funeral services for Mrs L M New Sr, 88, who died in a Homer hospital today, will be held at the Athens Baptist Church at 3 pm Friday. The Rev R H Wolf will officiate, assisted by the Rev H H McCune.
Burial, under direction of the Conger Funeral Home, will be in the Old Athens Cemetery.
Mrs New was a native of Jonesboro, Ga, coming here in 1888.
She is survived by two sons, L M New Jr of Athens and Mercer New of Shreveport; three daughters, Mrs C L Pace of Jamestown, Mrs Tommy Carter of Monroe, and Mrs G F Christman of Wichita, Kan; five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
