Lydia Owana Salazar Hunter, 42, of Green Cove Springs, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 20, 2012, peacefully at her residence with her family by her side.

Lydia was a native and lifelong resident of Green Cove Springs and was a 1987 graduate of the Christian Fellowship School in Green Cove Springs. She had worked as a medical assistant with Orange Park Pediatrics for 18 years. She was a member of the Family Worship Center in St. Augustine where she had served as the music minister for many years. She had also served as the music minister at the Living Waters Worship Center and the Christian Fellowship, both in Green Cove Springs. She was a gifted singer, song writer and pianist. She loved spending time with her family and taking her children to the beach.

Survivors include her husband, Kenneth L.(Kenny) Hunter of Green Cove Springs; her parents, the Rev. Paul and Bobbie Salazar of Green Cove Springs; three daughters, Brittany Hunter, Alexis Hunter and Emma Hunter, all of Green Cove Springs; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Jerry Duane Dyal, Charles and Beth Salazar, and Tommy Salazar, all of Green Cove Springs; one sister and brother-in-law, Kathy and Pastor Philip Cochran of St. Augustine; her parents-in-law, Harry and Sharri Hunter of Green Cove Springs; and one sister-in-law, Kathryn (Kathy) Bridges of Green Cove Springs.

Calling hours will be from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday, May 25, 2012, at Masters Funeral Home, 3015 Crill Ave., Palatka. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, May 26, 2012, at Family Worship Center, 2040 State Road 207 in St. Augustine with Pastors Philip Cochran, Paul Salazar and Joe Barrie, officiating. In honor and celebration of Lydia's life a Video Tribute will be shown. Burial will follow in the Hickory Grove Cemetery in Green Cove Springs.
