Newark, MD - Elmer D Bowden, 66, of rural Newark, died Tuesday in the Peninsula General Hospital, where he had been a patient several days. He had been in ill health for some time.
Mr Bowden, a retired farmer, was born in the Eastern shore of Virginia. His late parents were Thomas Sheppard & Martha Holland Bowden. Survivors include his widow, Mrs Margie Powell Bowden of Newark; a daughter, Mrs Elsie Mae Langmaid of St Meyers, FL; two sons, Robert P Bowden of New Castle and Charles L Bowden of Newark; seven grandchildren; a sister Mrs Louella Taylor of Berlin and three brothers, William of Berlin, Page H of Perryville, and Harry Bowden of Chincoteague.
Services will be held tomorrow at 2 p.m. in the Holloway Funeral Home, Salisbury. Interment will be in the Lewis Family Cemetery near Willards.
