HARTSVILLE Robert J Gainey 60 died in a local hospital Saturday morning after a long illness. Funeral services will be conducted at North Hartsville Church Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery.
Mr Gainey was born in Darlington County a son of the late Frank Early and Annie Chapman Gainey. He was a member of Morton Presbyterian Church and was associated with Sonoco Products Co for 35 years prior to his retirement. He was a member Old Timers Club
Surviving are his wife Mrs Annie Joe Harrell Gainey and a son J Kent Gainey of Hartsville, a brother William Gainey of Nashville, TN three sisters Mrs Annie Mae Banks and Mrs Vermelle Johnsonville both of Hartsville and Mrs Clara Matheson of Cheraw two grandchildren.
