Charles E. Lewis Charles Edward Lewis, 911A Main Avenue, died at his home Saturday evening, aged 85 years.
Born in Frederick County, he was a farmer and spent most of his life in the Smithsburg area. He was the son of the late John W. and Elizabeth (Harrison) Lewis, and was a member of the Pentecostal Church in this city.
Surviving are wife, Etta; sons, Keiffer, Keller, Cavetown; Lester, Beaver Creek; Lloyd, Floyd, Hagerstown; daughters, Mrs. Nellie Burns, Smithsburg; Mrs. Bertha Smith, Highfield; Mrs. Vada Spessard, Edgemont; Brothers, Claude, Ira, Garfield, Md.; sisters, Mrs. Fannie Gouker, Waynesboro; 14 grandchildren; an ten great grandchildren.
The body may be viewed at the Minnich Funeral Home until noon Tuesday, when it will be taken to the Pentecostal Church.
Services will be held there at 3 p.m., the Rev. W. A. Miller officiating, with interment in the Bethel Cemetery at Garfield.
