Born in San Francisco in 1902 the second of three children and only daughter of Catherine Murphy Scott and Edward Scott. Her mother was a widow by the time of the 1906 earthquake and all early records are lost in the earthquake. Zita married Francis White, a sailor in the Merchant Marines and they moved to San Diego in the early 1930s and lived there until she died. They had two daughters. Zita is my maternal grandmother.
