Alfred Andrew "Drew" Castaneda, Jr. was born on November 16, 1956 to Alberta MONDOR-Castaneda and the late Alfred CASTANEDA Sr., later graduating from Anderson High in Austin, Texas. Drew also had a love of music, and soon after worked as a professional musician, playing banjo with the band Bourbon Brothers throughout the Southwest and South. Drew was a Registered Professional Land Surveyor for much of his adult life. He loved dogs, and trained at Triple Crown Dog Academy for his second career as a dog trainer.

Drew was preceded in death by his father Prof. Alfred CASTANEDA Sr. Ph.D (March 4, 1923-January 4, 1981), and is survived by his mother Alberta; sister Kedron Marie CASTANEDA-Tidmore and husband Al Mikula, and countless extended family. He left no children. Memorial services were held on Tuesday, October 18, 2011 at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home of Austin, TX., with graveside services held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 19, 2011, at Austin Memorial Park, in Austin, TX.
