Listed in the Washington Post on August 26, 1945 as among the war dead from nearby Va. and Md.

In another account, he was said to have died by Feb. 13, 1945.

He was listed as being from Seat Pleasant, Md. where his parents lived at the time.

He was listed with the rank of PFC in the 2 newspaper accounts that I could find about his death.

He was Killed in Action (KIA)

****

Sadly, at least one private website shows his surname without a space. When notified that his marker clearly shows that there is indeed a space, they responded that they didn't care; basically his records had to be changed with all kinds of paperwork and effort. All I wanted them know was that Findagrave shows the correct spelling and that anyone wanting to research this war hero needs to know that it is misspelled on their website and on some other records.
