"Glenn Dale Brokaw, 84, of La Quinta, passed away Thursday, June 2, 2005, with his family by his side. He was born April 21, 1921, in Lebanon, S.D. Glenn was married to Mary Lou Rochester on June 17, 1941. He was a public accountant in Salinas for 30 years. Glenn was in the Army Reserve 40th Tank Company that was called to active duty in the 194th Tank Battalion C Company. Glenn was part of the Bataan Death March and a prisoner of war in Japan for 3 1/2 years. He was one of 47 men who returned to Salinas after the war. Glenn was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lou Brokaw, on Dec. 14, 2001. Survivors:Daughters, Sandra Burnett and Darlene Lewis; four grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. Visitation: 1 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, June 6, at Struve and Laporte Chapel. Funeral service: 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 7, at the chapel. Entombment: Garden of Memories Cemetery.
