Arden Ellis Painter, 89 SANDPOINT, ID - Arden Ellis Painter, 89, died Sunday, December 26, 2004. He was born October 16, 1915 to the late Burwell & Rosa Painter. He graduated from Selma High School in 1934. He married Alta Arnold on March 24, 1940, and she died in 1993. Arden Painter Sandpoint Private service will be held at a later date for Arden Ellis Painter, 89. Coffelt Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Painter, who was born in Fort Recovery, Mercer County, Ohio, died Sunday. In 1940 he married Alta May Arnold. He served in World War II in the submarine service. He and his wife lived in Richmond, Calif., before moving to Sandpoint in 1978. Mr. Painter was a member of the United Methodist Church in Sandpoint and a retired member of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers. He also was a member of Masonic Lodge 630 of Parker City, Ind., and was a member of Post 437 American Legion of Selma, Ind. His wife died in 1993. Survivors include two sons, David of Forest Park, Ga., and Dale of St. Helens, Ore.; a daughter, Sandra Burnett of Rathdrum, Idaho; three sisters, Merle Stephens of Muncie, Ind., and Nedra Warren and Rosemary Hayes both of Portland; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
