Dorothy Alice Fischer, 90, of 1005 Four Mile Drive, Williamsport, died Tuesday, May 8, 2012, at The Gatehouse at Divine Providence Hospital.

Dorothy was born Sept. 14, 1921, in Limestone Township, Bastress. She was the daughter of Herman A. and Mable Eiswerth Eck. Dorothy was a member of St. Ann's Roman Catholic Church and the St. Ann's Guild. A homemaker, Dorothy retired from the Williamsport Hospital and then worked at the Vanity Shop.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Joseph Fischer Jr. Dorothy is survived by her children, C. Joseph Fischer, Williamsport, Margaret J. (Ron) Heim, Hubbard, Ohio, Mary Ann (Jerry) Witman of DeLand, Fla., Edward J. (Lois) Fischer of New Bern, Pa., Kay (Roger) Carling, Van Etan, N.Y., Thomas M. (Sun) Fischer of Warner Robins, Ga., Teresa (Raymond) Rall of Centerville, Ohio. She is also survived by 24 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grand- child; brothers and sisters, Margaret Bubb, James Eck, Ruth Hauser, Alfred Eck, Jane Dincher, Mary Ann Waldman, Richard Eck, Edward Eck, Shirley Tripoli, Leonard Eck and Joan Cahn. Dorothy was preceded in death by a daughter, Phyllis Richie; her husband, Carl J. Fischer Jr.; granddaughter, Leesha Ann Fischer; great- grandson, Damien Palmeter; a sister, Eileen Hamm; and a brother, Larry Eck.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St Ann's Catholic Church, 1220 Northway Road, Williamsport, on Friday morning at 9 a.m. Rev. Paul Fontanella, her pastor, will officiate.

Friends may call at the Crouse Funeral Home, 133 E. Third St., Williamsport, on Thursday evening from 6 to 9 p.m. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Susquehanna Hospice at the Gatehouse, C/O Susquehanna Health Foundation, 1001 Grampian Blvd., Williamsport, PA 17701.
