Eugene Hennen, 79, of Prior Lake, formerly of Burnsville, died Thursday, Sept. 28, 2006 at Regency Hospital in Golden Valley.

Eugene was born in Shakopee April 19, 1927, the son of George and Catherine (Hartmann) Hennen. He married Marcella (Lenzmeier) Hennen Feb. 11, 1950 at St. Mary of the Purification Catholic Church in Marystown. Eugene retired from Viking Steel in Shakopee after 32 years. He was a 30 year member of the Knights of Columbus of Savage 4914.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Marcella Hennen; son, John (Gerri) Hennen of Savage; daughters, Patricia (Kimm) Anderson of Burnsville, Cynthia (Bryan) Burnes of Lacey, Wash.; grandchildren, Glenn Anderson, Andrea and Jeremy Hennen, Kyra, Chelsea and Nathan Burnes; great-grandchildren, Jillian and Loren Hennen; brother, Cleon (Beverly) Hennen of Burnsville; sister, Darlene Raleigh of Elmwood, Wisc.; brother-in-law, Leo (Helen) Lenzmeier of Shakopee; many nieces and nephews.

Eugene was preceded in death by his parents; stepmother, Hazel Hennen; brother, Elroy Hennen; nephew, Jeff Hennen.

Visitation was Monday Oct. 2 from 4-8 p.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Savage and also one hour prior to service at the church.

Mass of Christian Burial was at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 3, with Father Michael Tix presiding. Pallbearers were Glenn Anderson, Mike Raleigh, Mark Raleigh, Bruce Hennen, Bradley Hennen and Steve Lenzmeier. Interment at St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery in Savage.

In lieu of flower, memorials preferred.
