James (Jim) Abbott entered into rest on Wednesday, April, 25, 2012, in Grass Valley, Calif. He was 74.

Family and friends are invited to attend a celebration of life in honor of Jim's memory on Saturday, June 2, 2012, at the Grass Valley Moose Lodge, 15694 Allison Ranch Road, Grass Valley, Calif.

Jim was born Aug. 28, 1937, in East St. Louis, Ill. He retired from the U.S. Air Force and Unisys Corporation.

He served his community as a volunteer in numerous ways through the American Legion, VFW, Santa Clara County Fair Association, and was a dedicated member of the Loyal Order of the Moose. Jim took pleasure in devoting his time to volunteer work, even after his passing, he continued to give by donating his body to UC Davis Cancer Research.

Jim is survived by his wife, Brenda; daughters, Christine and Susan; five grandchildren; and niece, Terry.

In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory can be made to the American Cancer Society.
