Henry Lee Combs born September 22, 1888 in Hamilton County, Tennessee to James Franklin Combs and Dorinta Elizabeth Rhoten died February 22, 1947 when the truck in which he was riding overturned near Pisgah Baptist Church. He was raised in Navarro County, Texas a relocated to Miller County, Arkansas about 1918. He married Lottie Lee Davis, who preceded him in death.

Surviving are three sons, J D Combs and John Oliver Combs of Fouke, AR and Henry Lee Combs Jr of the US Navy stationed at Pearl Harbor; four daughters, Mildred Webb (Vernie), Mabel Burgess (Dale) of Fouke, AR, Christine Pilgreen (Garland) of Texarkana, AR and Cora Smith (Jimmy) of Oakland, CA; three step-children, Monroe Combs and Charley Combs of Fouke and Mary Combs Dean of Texarkana. He is also survived by eight brothers, Emmit, Jeff, Jack, John, Charlie, Earl, all of Kerens, TX, Tom of Waco, TX and George of Chattanooga, TN; two sisters, Frances Davis of Pasadena, TX and Dora Collins of Kerens, TX. He also leaves 16 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Burial will be at Independence Cemetery with pallbearers Oliver Cooper, Odus Cooper, John Sams Jr, Zettie Jones, Jewel Koonce and Alvin Koonce; honorary pallbearers will be Charley Barlow, John Cooper, John Sams Sr, Leo Teakle, Wiley Coker, James Crabtree, Frank Eaton and Elzie Griffin.
Reverend Wallace A Ely will officiate, assisted by Reverend Wilson.
