He was born at Turner's Mill in Munford, Al. Howard Jr was the oldest of 4 children. He was 15 when his dad died at age 41 of a heart attack. His mother was Estelle Gay Bussey Turner who remarried after the divorce of Howard Sr.
Howard Jr married Lila Bertha Robinson. She worked at General Electric in Oxford and after closing she became a stay at home mother of 4. Howard Jr. worked at a woolen mill in Talladega, the Talladega Police Dept and farmed soybean and cotton most of his life. He loved his John Deere equipment. He was very active and did some dirt track racing for a hobby. He was also very handsome and muscular and was admired by many of the youth especially. He would do anything to help someone and was very loved.
Daddy died with bone cancer, Multiple Myeloma, and suffered a lot before his death.
Your daughter Vicki misses you tremendously and wishes that you had gotten to know all my babies. Our girls adored you and loved when you let them cut your hair. You were adorable to let them do that at such a young age and not know what they were doing. The girls also loved it when you let them eat off of your plate. Great memories. I think of your sweet smile. You were always so kind!
Your great grands are so beautiful like their mothers. Lexi and Cameron especially favor the Turner's. Janna named her daughter Lila Bee after mother. You would love that Maddie, Lexi and Cam played ball. I remember that people told me, back in tha day, that you could have played pro baseball, because you were a natural but you decided to have a family instead. So glad you did!! Love in heaven to you, sweet dad!!!!
