James Herman Hume 95 of Glasgow died Tuesday, June 4th, 2013 at T. J. Samson Community Hospital. He was born August 28th, 1917 in Monroe County to the late Archie and Pearl Mae Hall Hume. His love for music and singing was well known by everyone.

He served in the U.S. Army during WWII and was retired from the Glasgow Coca Cola Bottling Company. He was a member of the Temple Hill Baptist Church.

He is survived by 2 sisters Lola Hume Age of California and Nena Phillips of Louisville; 2 sisters-in-law Anna Bell Hume of Louisville and Gwen Hume of Arkansas; several nieces and nephews including Royce Burgess and wife Sue and Virginia Settle and husband Larry all of Glasgow, and a very special friend Velma Graven. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Hazel Irene Burgess Hume, his step-mother Zipha Goad Hume, 2 brothers Ernest H. Hume and Alvis H. Hume and 2 sisters Lois Hume Sloan and Edna Hume Kingery.

Funeral services will be 2pm Friday, June 7th at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery.
