Funeral services were conducted Thursday afternoon, April 20th, for J. J. Lytal, of Dallas, former Leonard resident, who passed away suddenly at his home in Dallas at 2:30am Wednesday, April 19th. Services were held at the Leonard Baptist Church with the Rev. Maynard Rogers, former pastor, and Rev. Eugene Skelton, pastor of the Leonard Baptist Church officiating. Burial was in the Mt. Carmel cemetery in Wolfe City.
Mr. Lytal was born on December 7, 1885 in Baldwin, Miss. He came to this area in 1917 and engaged in farming until his retirement. He was a member of the Baptist Church. He was married to the former Miss Neoma Williams in 1906. Survivors include his wife and 4 daughters, Mrs. Kathleen Shields of Wylie, Misses Bonnie and Inel Lytal of Dallas and Mrs. Mildred Pierce of Leonard; two sons, Hurlan Lytal of Leonard, B. P. Lytal of Wolfe City and seven grandchildren.
