Susan Jo Pickering, 59, of Russells Point, passed away Thursday, April 26, 2012, at The Ohio State University Medical Center, Ross Heart Hospital, in Columbus.

She was born Dec. 2, 1952, in Bellefontaine to the late Lloyd G. and Virginia June Tait Pickering.

Surviving are three sisters, Winnie Jo Pickering, Beverly Jo Pickering and Ginnie Jo Pickering Hudson, all of Russells Point; a niece, Emily Hudson of Russells Point; and two great-nieces, Haley and Hannah Stidham.

A 1971 graduate of Indian Lake High School, she received a bachelor's degree in elementary education from Warner Southern College in Lake Wales, Fla., and retired from Highland County Schools in Florida in 2010.

She resided in Florida for 36 years and was a member of the First Christian Church in Sebring, Fla. She enjoyed the arts and music and was active in the annual Lake Wales Liberty musical production.

She also was a member of the First Church of God in Bellefontaine.

Pastor's C.J. Plogger and Vernon Allison officiate at an 11 a.m. funeral Wednesday at the First Church of God in Bellefontaine where calling begins at 9:30 a.m. prior to the service. Burial is in the Huntsville Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the First Church of God Building Fund, 1000 E. Brown Ave., Bellefontaine OH 43311.
