UNITED STATES ARMY - WORLD WAR II

John V. Misero, 87, of Gibbstown, passed away, at home, April 25, 2012.

He is the beloved husband of Sylvia F. (nee DiMarco), loving father of Joanne (Ralph) Skidmore, devoted grandfather of Rachel and Madeline, brother of Helen Villare, Ann Misero, Alice Valente, Martha (John) Rastelli, brother-in-law of Lorraine Misero, also survived by many nieces, nephews and loving friends. Predeceased by brothers William and Joseph Misero, his sisters Judy Wood, Viola Donatelli and Maria (Danero) Gentile.

"Johnny" was born in Paulsboro and has lived in Gibbstown since 1948. He was a life member of the Gibbstown VFW Post #5579, life member of the St. Michael's Club, which he was the bar manager for many years, had 38 years of service with Mobil Refinery, retiring in 1985, was a WWII Army Veteran and was a Paulsboro High School graduate. For over 25 years John worked for Landolfi Funeral Home and was a great asset to all those that worked with him and to those who met him. He would lend a helping hand to anyone that asked, and, in his spare time, he loved to paint and wash and wax cars. His presence will be missed by all that loved him.

A viewing will be held at the LANDOLFI FUNERAL HOME of Paulsboro, 300 W. Broad St. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at the St. Michael's Church, St. Clare of Assisi Parish, Memorial Ave., Gibbstown. Interment Eglington Cemetery.
