Freda Vanice Adams, age 82, of Moberly, Missouri died Sunday, April 22, 2012, at Ravenwood Terrace in Moberly, Missouri.
Mrs. Adams was born April 19, 1930, in Allendale, Missouri, the daughter of the late Walter and Grace Monday.
Freda was converted and baptized in the Allendale Baptist Church at the age of 14. In 1971, the family joined the Church of God. Freda attended Grant City High School and Maryville Teachers' College.
Freda married Alvin Adams of Grant City, Missouri in 1950. After college, they moved to New Franklin, Missouri where Alvin taught Industrial Arts for 10 years. Freda taught fourth grade for three years and then became a full-time homemaker for her husband and two children, a daughter Kathy and a son Kelly. In 1962, the family moved to Moberly.
Alvin retired from teaching in 1983 and died in 1999.
Freda is survived by a daughter, KathyMeeker (Darrell) of St. Joseph, Missouri: a son, Kelly Adams (Johanna Reed) of Moberly, Missouri; three grandchildren, Erika Berlin (Adam) of New York City, New York, Daniel Meeker of Kansas City, Missouri and David Meeker of Columbia, Missouri;
A private service will be held on Friday, April 27, 2012, at Pathway Memorial Funeral Home in Moberly. There will be no visitation. Entombment will be in Resurrection Mausoleum at Oakland Cemetery.
