Hilda A. Frantz; age 91; of 306 Highland Avenue Plymouth, WI, passed away early Thursday afternoon (April 21st ) at St. Nicholas Hospital in Sheboygan.
She was born on May 30, 1919 in Plymouth, WI, a daughter of the late Ernst and Lillie Pingel Borkenhagen.
She attended St. John Lutheran Grade School in Plymouth and graduated from Plymouth High School in 1937.
On December 17, 1938, she was married to Alvin D. Frantz at St. John Lutheran Church in Plymouth. The couple resided in Plymouth since their marriage.
She worked at Clevepak Corporation in Plymouth for 30 years, retiring in 1982.
Hilda was a lifelong member of St. John Lutheran Church in Plymouth and was a member of the Sunday Morning Bible Class and a former member of the Exercise class at Church. She was a member of the North Bowl Bowling Hall of Fame and was inducted in 1999 into the SWBA Bowling Hall of Fame. Hilda was also a member of the Plymouth Civic Society and Bridge Marathon, the Elkhart Study Club Bridge Marathon and the Lutheran Ladies Bridge Marathon.
She was a member of the Tuesday Ladies 18-hole Golf League and Saturday's Women's Club League at Quit Qui Oc Golf Course.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Alvin, on August 12, 1996.
Hilda also had volunteered at Church for funerals and at Christmas for the Kitchen Cookie Sale.
Survivors include: One son: Alvin D. "Danny" Frantz and his wife, Ellen, of Coeur D Alene, ID; One daughter: Nancy Lee (Mark) Meilahn of Greeley, CO; Three grandchildren: Dani Arlene (Joel) Rasmussen of Austin, TX, Melisa (Don) Moore of Littleton, CO and Paige Marie (Darrell) Hobbs of Fort Collins, CO; Two step grandchildren: Cyndi Liljenquist of Denver, CO and James Frantz of ID; Eight great grandchildren: Alexandra, Mitchell, Rachel and Jeremy Moore, Tyler, Kaysen and Quincy Hobbs and Leif Rasmussen; Six step-great grandchildren: Brandie Carnrike, Brandon and Alicia Liljenquist, and Michael, Janelle and Daniel Frantz; Two great-great step grandchildren: Bella Carnrike and Alayna L. Beyer; One sister: Leila Spieker of Plymouth.
She is also survived by nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by Three grandchildren; Two sisters: Verna Horn and Linda Gardner; One brother: Harvey Borkenhagen and One sister-in-law: Jean Borkenhagen.
Memorial services will be held on Wednesday Evening (May 25) at 6:00 P.M. at St. John Lutheran Church in Plymouth. Rev. Nathan Meader, pastor of the church will officiate. Cremation has taken place and Inurnment will be in Plymouth Woodlawn Cemetery.
Friends may call at the CHURCH from 4:00 P.M. on Wednesday until the time of services.
A memorial fund is being established in Hilda's name for St. John Lutheran School and the Kitchen Fund.
