Ralph E. Bade

Ralph E. Bade, 72, 808 Fairview Drive, formerly of 237 South St., Plymouth, WI 53073, passed away late Wednesday evening, June 26, 1996, at St. Mary's Hospital in Port Washington.

He was born on March 1, 1924 in Plymouth, Wis., a son of the late Elwood J. and Viola Servis Bade.

He attended Plymouth area grade schools and graduated from Plymouth High School in 1941. He attended UW-Madison and attended Fond du Lac Business College in Fond du Lac.

He served in the U.S. Army in India from 1941 to 1943.

On June 25, 1949, he married Carolyn "Carrie" Freck in Columbus, Wis. The couple resided in Plymouth, since their marriage.

He worked at Plymouth Factory Furniture since 1947, with his father and uncle and became owner of the business in 1960. He retired in 1987, after selling the business to Tag's Furniture and Appliance.

His wife preceded him in death on Sept. 19, 1994.

He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Plymouth and was one of three head ushers in the church for 17 years.

He was a member of the Kiwanis Club in Plymouth from 1955-1983. He served as president in 1962.

He belonged to the American Legion in Plymouth and was a member of VFW Cheese Center Post #5612.

He belonged to bowling leagues in the Plymouth area, many bridge clubs and the Plymouth Dance Club. He served on the board of trustees for the county institutions from 1964 to 1980. He was president of the Wisconsin Sanitarium Trustees Association for two years. He belonged to the Wisconsin Retail Furniture Association.

Survivors include one son, Scott R. (Dr. Andrea Flom) Bade, Edina, Minn.; one daughter, Gena (Tim) Lueck, Plymouth, Wis.; three grandsons, Ryan, Jordan and Rory Bade, Edina, Minn.; one brother, Donald H. (Ursala) Bade, Byfield, Mass.

Funeral services will be held at the Suchon Funeral Home, in Plymouth, on Sunday, June 30, at 7 p.m. The Rev. Richard Bidinger, pastor of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Plymouth Woodlawn Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Suchon Funeral Home in Plymouth from 4 p.m. on Sunday, until the time of services.

Military rites will be conducted at the gravesite by the Plymouth VFW World Chees Center Post #5612.

A memorial fund is being established in the name of Ralph Bade.
