Elaine Ellen Potterf, 76, of Indianapolis, formerly of West Lafayette, died at 10:32 AM Saturday, April 21, 2012 at her residence.
She was born January 25, 1936, in Logansport, to the late Everett and Ethel Houck Cunningham.
She graduated from Delphi High School in 1954, did her undergraduate work at Ball State University and finished her graduate work at Indiana University.
On July 5, 1969 she married Lawrence D. Potterf in Logansport. He preceded her in death on February 25, 2007.
Elaine was a music teacher for Logansport School Corporation before retiring and had also worked in Personnel at Indiana Veterans Home.
She was a member of First Baptist Church.
Surviving are two daughters Deana Potterf (partner Dawn Wolf) of Indianapolis, Kathryn Potterf of Topeka, KS and a Sister-in-law Justine Cunningham of Lafayette.
She was preceded in death by a brother Edwin Cunningham.
Visitation will be from 4:00 until the service at 6:00 pm Sunday, April 22, 2012 at First Baptist Church, 411 N. 7th St., Lafayette, IN 47904 with Rev. Carl Malmgren officiating.
A private family burial will be at Meadow View Cemetery in Lafayette.
