Margaret Lindsay (Templeton) Tolley was born on August 6, 1917 in Fayetteville, Tennessee, the daughter of Hurley Marcus Templeton and Mamie (Lindsay) Templeton.

She graduated from the Nashville School of Business in 1938, and she held many jobs over the years, her most enjoyable being proprietress of Lynchburg's first flower shop and being a hostess at both the Jack Daniel Distillery and Miss Mary Bobo's Boarding House alongside her daughter.

Married for 24 years to Jim Conner Tolley, Margaret was famously the life of the party, noted for her country cooking and her keen wit. She loved to gather with kith and kin, breaking bread and telling tales into the night. Her smile warmed the soul and the twinkle in her eye shone as if it were plucked from the heavens.

A resident of Nashville, Margaret passed away on December 1st, 2015.

Preceded in death by her parents, her siblings Joe Wiley Templeton, William Templeton and Ruth (Templeton) Strong and by her dearest friend Leola Dismukes, she was survived by a married son; married daughter; two grandsons; two sisters; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services were held at Lynchburg Funeral Home Chapel, and burial was in Lynchburg Cemetery.
