Funeral services for Francis Eugene Abbott, 74, of Jeffersonville, will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 24 at E. M. Coots' Sons Funeral Home, Jeffersonville, with burial to follow in Walnut Ridge Cemetery. He died Saturday, April 21, 2012 at Clark Memorial Hospital.
He was a native of New Washington and a retired wood worker from Monks Wood Products. He also was a drummer for several local bands.
Survivors include his wife Mildred Mc Kinney Abbott of Jeffersonville; son Donald Scott Abbott of Austin, Ind.; daughters Karen Lynn (Robert) Headrick of Floyds Knobs and Cheryl Lee (Michael) Riley of Clarksville; brothers Mark Abbott of Crothersville, Ind., Larry Abbott of Hanover, Ind., Ronnie Abbott of Charlestown, Mickey Abbott of Chelsea, Ind., and Jerry Abbott of Louisville; sisters Donna Davidson of Hibernia, Ind., and Sharon Abbott of New Hibernia, Ind.; grandchildren Donald S. Abbott Jr., Shelbi L. Abbott, John F. Abbott, Bethany L. Riley, Hannah R. Abbott, Braeden G. Headrick and Jordon E. Headrick.
He was preceded in death by his parents Mark Abbott, Dorcas Key and granddaughter Megan Abbott.
