Musican Dies; Rites Saturday Funeral services for Alfred Frederick Dieckman, 68, of 342 Ann Eliza street, retired employe of the American Distilling Co. and well known area musican, will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday in the Kuecks funeral Home. Rev. Charles Dumville, pastor of the Normandale Reformed Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Lakeside cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. today. Mr. Dieckman died at 4:45 p.m. Wednesday in Pekin hospital, where he had been a patient for four days prior to his death. He had been in failing health for several months. Mr. Dieckman, who in his earlier years was a cigarmaker, had worked at the American Distillery for 15 years until his retirement in 1957. He was a member of the Pekin Municipal Band until his retirement from that organization in 1952. Mr. Dieckman began his musical career with Gehrig's famous Seventh Regimental Band at Pekin, played with the 10th Regimental Spencer Band of Peoria, with the Galesburg band and with various orchestras in the area, including the original Pekin Union Mission orchestra, which was organized in 1915. Born at Pekin April 02, 1891, he was the son of Remmer and Elsie Hofferbert Dieckman. His marriage to Grace Everwein occurred at Springfield February 21, 1918 Surviving besides his wife are a daughter, Louis (Elsie) Vittori; five grandchildren, Randy, Monty, Valarie, Cheri and David Vittori (sixth grandchild was Carole Joan Vittori); and three sisters, Mrs. Minnie Jones, Mrs. Elsie Herold and Mrs. Alma Kitterman, all of Pekin.
