Isaac Cannon Dies in Shoals. Aged Man Died Wednesday - Funeral to be held Friday morning at 9 o'clock.

Shoals, Ind; Nov. 7 -- Isaac Cannon, one of the oldest and most highly respected citizens of Martin County, passed away suddenly at his home in West Shoals early Wednesday morning, at the age of 86 years. Mr. Cannon had not been in his usual good health for the past two weeks, but was able to go to the polls to cast his vote in the town election Tuesday. On returning home he complained of feeling worse and a doctor was called during the evening. Later he was thought to be feeling better and the family retired for the night, but some time during the night he passed away, apparently while asleep.

The deceased man was a brother of Joseph Cannon of Loogootee, who is the sole survivor of a family of 19 brothers and sisters and is now past 91 years of age.

Mr. Cannon was a native and life long resident of Martin county. He was twice married. His first wife who was Malinda Clements, who died years ago. Four daughters of this union survive as follows: Mrs. Nora Gates [Nora "Morra" Cannon Gates, married to William], Indianapolis; Mrs. Bada Burris and Mrs. Mida Arvin of Kansas City; and Mrs. Ida Montgomery, residing in Cincinnati. His second wife, who was Emma Jones, survives and the following children by their marriage: Mrs. Della Morris of Washington, Mrs. Stella Warren of Brazil, Ind; Mrs. Flossie Keenan, Evansville; Mrs. Edith Brown, Shoals; Odis Cannon, Terre Haute; Paris Cannon of Loogootee. Several grandchildren also survive.

The funeral service will be conducted from the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Shoals at 9 o'clock Friday morning. Burial will follow in the Wood Cemetery, north of Loogootee.
