Roy Denver Sexton, 49, of Pine Knot, Ky., died October 27, 2001, at the Scott County Hospital in Oneida. Born in Oneida, December 2, 1951, he was preceded in death by his father, Roy Lawrence Sexton; one brother, Winford Sexton; one sister, Deanna Sexton; sister-in-law, Rebecca Marlow; mother-in-law, Evelyn Jackson; brother-in-law, Elmer McCulley; and one step grandson, Dustin Fuson. He was of the Baptist faith. He is survived by his mother, Dottie Sexton of Helenwood; his partner in life, Retha Sexton of Pine Knot, Ky.; three daughters: Michelle Sexton, Tonya Ferrier and husband, Robert, and April Stephens and husband, Randall, all of Pine Knot, Ky.; two step children, Sheila McCulley and James Fuson, both of Pine Knot, Ky.; two brothers, Edford Sexton of Rugby, and Ledford Sexton of Brewstertown; one sister, Delissia Hamby of Helenwood; two brothers-in-law, Herbert McCulley and Gary Blakely, both of Pine Knot, Ky.; nine grandchildren, special cousin, George Sexton; special nephew, Brandon Sexton; two special nieces, Monica Sexton and Tracey Hughes; three special friends, Lyndon B. Cook, Jim Durham, and Ronnie Sexton; several nieces and nephews, and many other relatives. Funeral service was conducted November 2, 2001, in the chapel of Four Oaks Funeral Home with Rev. Hertis Phillips and Rev. Leslie Gilreath officiating. Music was provided by the New River Choir and Vince Pennington. Interment followed in Pine Knot Cemetery.
